Mother your inner parts to birth your dreams
Within each of us exists an inner community of parts or voices: the inner child, the wise elder, the fearful protector, the joyful creator, and more. Just as a nurturing mother tends to all aspects of her child, blessing each part with love and understanding, you too can "mother" your own inner family.
When you practice compassionate self-acceptance of every part of your psyche, even the parts that feel difficult or unruly, you create fertile inner soil for your dreams to take root and flourish. The creative essence of each can emerge freely without the constraint of judged or rejected parts of self.
So how might you lovingly mother your parts today?
Perhaps the inner child needs playful adventure. The wise elder may crave solitude to dream. The fearful protector could use reassurance that all is well as you navigate uncertainty.
By parenting yourself with this nurturing presence, you make space for Self energy to bloom and lead the way. You start to experience more compassion, curiosity, clarity, creativity, calm, confidence, courage, and connectedness.
Tips on nurturing your parts:
A key to nurturing our parts is accessing Self energy, and one way to do this is by completely processing feelings.
Locate and describe
Where do you feel the emotion in your body? What sensations do you feel in association with this feeling?
Breathe
Connect with your breath. Feel your body breathing.
Try resonance breathing to slow things down. This includes an inhale through the nose for four and an exhale through pursed lips for six done as if you were blowing out a candle.
Allow, accept and appreciate
The feelings and the sensations - acknowledge them, welcome them, thank them for their presence.
Recognize it is okay to feel how you feel.
If you feel resistance, ask yourself, "am I willing to feel how I feel?"
Make a sound to express the feeling
Imagine the feeling had a sound. What would that sound be? The body releases naturally when you vocalize to allow it to move to match energy.
Actually make a sound. Talking about it doesn't count here, as it usually leads to us ruminating and getting hooked into the feeling.
From this integrated embrace, you cultivate the loving acceptance and safety for your visions, ideas, and voice to be birthed anew.
